Jessie Ardolino, a true ambassador of travel and one of the first women agency owners , opened Plaza Travel in 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut.

In 1969, Alba Giordano, trained by her sister Jessie, opened Plaza Travel Center in Latham, New York. The agency was one of the first women-owned businesses in the area. Alba was made famous locally for her appearances on local radio programs. She continued to plan and book travel until well into her eighties and retired only under protest from her loyal staff and clients. Her husband, Tony Giordano, joined Plaza Travel in the 1970's, and worked part time at the agency until he was  91!

After managing the agency for 25 years, Jean Gagnon acquired Plaza Travel in 2015, and is proud to continue the tradition of a women-owned local business. Plaza Travel is now serving third and fourth generations of travel clients with the same attention to detail as Jessie and Alba did, sharing their knowledge of the world with enthusiasm and integrity.
